Spring has has come and it's the beginning of new fabulous things here at Elephantshoe. Today we welcome our very first intern to our studio all the way from Stellenbosch in the Cape, {insert a happy dance here}. Welcome to Elephantshoe Kathleen Stein, we can't wait to meet, work and get to know you, I hope we learn a whole heap from each other in the next 2 months.
We asked Kathleen to answer just a few questions to help us to get to know her a little more before her visit to Jozi. We definitely both share a love for tea & ice-cream that's for sure! Take a look at what she had to say here :
- What have you chosen to study? Where? Why? I am studying Events Management in Stellenbosch at The Aleit Academy. My love for all things pretty and a passion for organisation (I’m the crazy list maker) lead me to believe that I could create magical events for people one day.
- How did you become interested in the design & paperie side to events? I have always loved making cards for friends and family, and scrapbooking is one of my favourite hobbies. I could easily blow my budget in a stationery store (and I have once… or twice). I always keep the stationery from weddings and events as mementoes.
- Why Elephantshoe? My studies in the industry has got me spending a lot of time on blogs, The Pretty Blog being my favourite. I found a Elephantshoe DIY project on there, and I have been hooked ever since!
- Kathleen Stein in 10 words? Organised, perfectionist, trendy, foodie, cat-lover, tea-drinker, beauty-obsessed, responsible, creative and chatter-box.
- Favorite Pantone Colour? 710U – A nice colour for spring
- Favorite Tattly? Red bike.
- Saying to live by? “It always seems impossible until it’s done” – Nelson Mandela.
- What would your best friend say about you? Brunettes have more fun!
- Coffee or Tea? I choose to get my caffeine fix from a cup of tea.
- In the next 35 days what do you hope to learn? I hope to learn more about the process of events’ stationery from the initial meeting with the client right through until the end product. I’m interested in getting a glimpse into the design side of stationery-making as well.
- What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given? “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life”.
- If you had a free voucher for our shoppe what items would you purchase? What’s the value of the voucher? But I’d first consider the washi tape – I especially have my eye on the mint green chevron and pink floral…
- In 10 years time where do you hope to be? One day I would like to have met the man of my dreams, have started a family, lived by the sea and well-travelled.
- On a weekend you will find me . . . Cooking, shopping and sleeping late!
- I love . . . Ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream.
